Lunar has bumple foot. He has had a red place on the bottom of each of his hind feet for awhile so I have been making an extra effort to keep his cage clean.
Lunar now weighs 930 grams ... he has been on a diet and exercise plan for several months and his weight has dropped from 1013 grams.
Started him on chlorplam today as I don't have any clavamox on hand.
I will contact his vet to make an appointment when they open tomorrow.

Lunar was two in October and he lives with my 3 other older rats in a two section horizontally connected CN.
All 4 ratties have mobility issues and are somewhat incontinent or just find using the litter boxes for anything other then sleeping, to be too much effort.
Fleece on the floor pans and cotton blankets in all sleeping areas (changed twice a day)

Here is a picture I just took of Lunar's hind feet.

I have read that Blue-Kote applied once a day will treat this and that calendula ointment also works in some cases.
Looked it up on the rat guide.
Any suggestions, info, or stories would be appreciated.

Oh, no, poor Lunar. I guess it is not surprising given his weight... but he has done so well on your diet-and-exercise program! I have never (touch wood) had a rat with bumblefoot, so I have no words of wisdom for you.

Those sores aren't so bad and probably a result of his weight and age. It might not even progress more than what it is. Padding down the cage might be all that he needs.
