My precious Nami, who has been just a little too skinny for as long as I've had her, now has a lump where body spine meets tail. Part of it is soft, I'm assuming abscess, but part is harder and gives me the sinking feeling that it may be a tumor. So... possible infected tumor at the base of the spine. I'm really concerned because of the location. Is it just me, or does the prognosis on this not look so good?

:cry4:

For now, lets just assume it's an abscess. Treat as such and then once you have it cleaned out then you can reassess what it might actually be. Some abscesses are very hard.

... looking back, she's been in pain since her spay, possibly before, she's barely healing from anything, and she's nearly skeletal. Even if his is 'just' an abscess, it's wrapping around her spine... I don't think she'll recover, and it's not fair to put her through more pain. She's not enjoying anything beyond sleeping anymore. :sad3:

I'm pretty sure it's time to let go.
