A bit of background....my poor little Mackenzie (almost a year old) has had issues since his neuter in January. He has had a bunch of abscesses (2 were surgically removed). So after the last one was removed in early September we put him on a course of chlorpalm. So he has been done the chlorpalm for a week now and he's still having loose stools. I have given him something from the BRAT diet every night and he has had some DanActiv probiotics. So I'm just wondering if he needs more probiotics or if it is even normal that he is still having loose stools?

You might want to try offering him just the rice, and/or unsalted soda crackers to firm him up. Poor little booger, to hear of all his problems at such a young age. Was he neutered at that place?

I swear by unsalted crackers, they work fast. But, I recommend visiting your health food store and picking up real probiotics and adding it to his food.

Yes unfortunately he was.

Any suggestions on a specific brand?

I don't have a name, but I buy the kind that keeps in the fridge in a dark bottle. Those ones are really live. The probiotics found in food after processing aren't always live, some do survive the processing but not like the real stuff.

You can also try Bio K - it comes in capsules and fermented cow's/rice/soy milk. If you try the beverages, get the kids' formula, rats tend to like that one most.
