looking for photos or images please

of what a healthy weight rat looks like.

so many rats esp males, are overweight, I'd love to see some photos of a healthy trim rat.

anyone have any or know where I can find some?

Here's a picture of Meeko. He's very slim. In this position, you can see under him, you can see his hip and the slight contour of his elbow.

In contrast Gera. Gera is not a big rat but he does have fat. You still see his elbow and a slight curve of the leg but it's mostly fat.

Baby rats are rarely fat. They are sleek and slim, it's only after they've stopped maturing (7 months about) do they start to gain weight as fat.

so in general the belly should clear the ground/floor, right?

sometimes when I look at my girls, they look so fat, and other times they don't

when they stand on their hind legs it looks like they all have huge bellies
??

but only a couple of them look fat when they are sitting.
I'll have to get some good photos, if they'll sit still long enough

I dont' know how girls ever get fat, they are so busy :lol:
