Bif has had a bit of extra growth on her lower teeth, and though she is still eating well and they are not causing sores on the roof of her mouth, I am wondering if trimming them would be a good idea.
Is this something I could do at home? Is there anything else I can do to encourage her to wear them more?

Sometimes I'd swear the bottom teeth look long when in fact they aren't. Like lilspaz mentioned, unless you see a real issue, I'd leave it.

Well they are getting far past the length they should be ideally. It looks as though she's still comfortable, but I don't want to wait until she's not to do something.
In the event that it does begin to be a larger concern, can I do them at home?

I don't advise home trimming unless you truly must, its very easy to injure the rat or crack/shatter the teeth.

There really is no "too long" with rats. It's only maloccluded (crooked teeth) or not. Those teeth aren't being worn down evenly because they no longer align.
