Night 4 at my parents house and Lilly has been sneezing. This house is older and in the country, it gets pretty chilly at night so my dad brought out an old heater. I should've known better when I saw how dusty it was but for some reason I thought they'd suffer more from temperature changes...
That's what I assume the culprit is, anyway. I was laying low in bed today when I heard some sneezies, far more than the last few days (the odd one every hour doesn't concern me, since we're in an entirely new place... for them, anyway). I turned off the television and sat in front of the cage in time to hear a series of sniffles and I peered inside - Lilly was sitting up in the rat pile, rubbing at her nose and sneezing repetitively. Mama got scared and moved the cage to the living room - it's the only room in the house with a consistent, moderate temperature and was cleaned today for a showing so there's minimal dust. Before doing that I took her out and got a look at her nose - it's pretty stuffed. There is discharge (clear) and her nostrils are not nearly as open as I'd like them to be. I ratphoned and all I hear is her breathing more rapidly.
I'm sick myself and maybe a wee bit hungover from holiday festivities - am I overreacting? I haven't heard/seen her have an attack like that, ever. I don't have any dark chocolate (unless Ferro Roche Noir counts) and there is a couple days worth of doxy left at the apartment, but I'm kind of freaking out for the night. My baby has sniffles I don't like it.
Penny has sneezed a few times too but Maggie hasn't been caught doing anything so I don't think my sister's girls have given them something.
Again, there's a cold/dry room and dusty heater involved in a brand new place. Is that all? The attack is pretty sudden so I'm freaking out I guess anic: anic: anic:
