It spoils out time for me when I am tired. I need to be able to have a time limit, but Leto won't cooperate.

She is no longer afraid to come out, and she joins the other girls running all over, climbing on me, climbing the cages and getting rescued by me, and racing through tubes Eventually they start going back to the cage. But when the others go in, Leto hides. She runs when I reach for her, then she goes to the most inaccessible place and sits there.

I sat for over half an hour on the floor hoping she'd come out to visit me or that she'd climb the cage again. No such luck. I had to take just about everything from under the cages so that her only choice was to run into a tube. Eventually it worked, but I am reluctant to go through all that again tomorrow. It was well over an hour. I think that her out time will have to be in the playpen from now on.

Anybody else have a stubborn one like that? She is much worse than Tia was.

In my rat room the only place they can hide is their cage. I cur coroplast to cover the front where the cage is because I got so annoyed with rats hiding back there. You can cut it to size and set it up there I do that too. I quickly took hiding spots away because that annoyed me to no end not being able to reach them.

I have found that she usually hides in the tube, so after everyone else is in, I pull the tube out and put her in the cage.
Only takes five minutes or less ..... even if I have to pull out other things, and put them back

Are the girls living in the entire cage now?
How is it going?

I finally got her out of another tube. That's my usual trick, but last night she was a real challenge, so I became exhausted and  whiny.

They are still in the bottom two sections only, until poor Molly starts to feel more at ease and welcomed by The Mean Girls.

After every out time, my rats get their veggies so when they see the veggies going into the cage, they all want to go back home. Can you set up some type of treat for them given in the cage only when out time is done?

Oh, that would definitely work for them! They are food hounds, always on the lookout for a treat.

No. Mine run out to me when I make kissy noises.
However, if they see my mom, they hide and run around like little cheetas. Once, Matilda got out and my mom spent half her day chasing her around and still didn't catch her(she was trying every second she saw her throught the day). But I came home from school and she didn't even budge when I made a move to grab her. Maybe it's still just a little trust issue? She might be thinking you won't let her out again.
