Today when I let the boys out to play while I cleaned their cage, all seemed well -- I even got them their usual out time treat, and everyone was excited and ate... then after eating, suddenly Alphonse had no interest other than to nap at various places around the cage. Even when I put him back in the cage, he just went back to lay down. And the way he lays looks almost.. depressed? He hangs his head(when he can, obviously not when hes flat on the floor), and I heard that's what some rats with URI's do, but when I listen to his lungs, they're silent. (However, sometimes they do flare up like he's honking... but usually when he's freaked out and scared, and then it stops once he's 'out of danger'.)

Even in the cage now, he's still napping.

I can't figure out why he's so tired suddenly when he was so excited and even trying to climb my pant leg earlier. He's 18/19 months old, now, so I don't know if maybe he's just slowing down, but still.. At the snap of a finger?

Anyone have an idea? It's pretty vague, since I know 'lethargy' might as well be a symptom of everything under the sun...

Hmm.. I hope it's not. I haven't had out time yet today, but when I hang around the cage he seems very alert and interested in what I'm doing. I hope it was just a one-time thing...

I've been keeping a close eye on him... He seems generally more sleepy and more content to be held against my chest(for longer than usual, anyways). In the cage he seems to sleep a little more than usual(as if he didn't sleep enough, haha). I'm thinking.. and hoping... he's just slowing down a big from age.
