My boyfriend has three female rats who have lived together for quite some time with no incidents- theperfect roomates!
a couple days ago we noticed that one (punkin) has rather large scabs on her shoulders and face and a bit down her back.
these scabs dont quite look like little mite scabs, but i cant be sure. im a little afraid its something worse- some sort of skin condition, but i dont want to jump to conclusions. his sisters think that the rats are fighting, although im not sure that's it either.
i was just wanting some input from some experts! i have a couple pictures, but shes very skittish so i apologize for how blurry they are!
please help! shes a wonderful little rat lady!

she scratchess, yes. i personally havn't seen her bleed, but she obviously has been.
i really hoped you wouldn't suggest pyoderma- i was afraid when i saw it.
should she be separated from her cagemates? or is this unecessary?

If its pyoderma then its not contagious.

i figured that even if it is mites then the others have all been exposed anyway, even though they dont show signs.
im thinking we should treat for mites just in case, and if that doesnt clear it up then a vet visit should be in order.
does this sound alright?
also, where can i buy ivermicin?

I would do a treatment just in case, it can't hurt and if in a week it doesn't get better or it becomes worse, then I'd bring her in for some abs.
