I had two boys surrendered to me a while ago and I had them out running around with mine over the weekend. The himy named Kink has a kink in his tail. I asked the girl that surrendered him about it and she said that it has always been like that (since she got him a baby).

I notice that he doesn't move his back feet very well. He doesn't go anywhere fast, he hops when he moves. When I put him on the bed, he sort of just hangs out in one spot. He eventually makes it up to my pillows, but then he just hides under them.

Has anyone encountered this? It seems also that his lower back is flat? Very hard to describe. He just lies there. He doesn't look like he's in pain at all, just doesn't want to scurry around like the rest of them.

maybe there was an injury as an infant or genetical defect... :? with the back being flat i though hip displasia but then i don't think he should be able to move his back legs... but i'm not a vet. it does sound like there is something wrong with him structurally. an x-ray would likely show what's the problem. but i don't think there would be anything that could be done to correct anything on an animal that small.

Yeah, I didn't think so either. Was just wondering if anyone else had encountered it. He seems happy and healthy and is able to be out with the other boys with no problem, so it's not a huge concern for me. Just curious. I'm going to bring him to the vet end of week when I go to get a couple of my boys neutered and have him have a look at him.

That's probalby what it was. I think these two may have been feeders (or supposed to have been). I'll take some pictures tonight and post them up.
