Kaytee food recall

Hey all, just wanted to let you know about a recall for Kaytee's Forti-Diet Pro Health for rats, mice, hamsters, in case any of you use it.

For those of y'all that feed Kaytee Forti-Diet, take the remaining food with the bag to whichever pet store you purchased it from. You don't need the original receipt. A clerk will scan the bar code to verify that there's a recall on the product, then will give you a full refund (yes, even if you only have a handful of the food left!). Petsmart allowed me to get a bag of Carefresh Complete as a substitute, and put the remaining balance on a gift card. I no longer feed Carefresh or Kaytee, so the food will be donated to the rats at my shelter.

Glad I recently switched to Oxbow, though. My girls seem to like it more. I love the fact that they have a 40 lb. bag, too! I used to pay about $3 a lb. for decent rat kibble, now I pay $1.75 a lb. for GREAT rat kibble! :joy:

Thanks for the link Techno! Ever since National Pet Pharmacy quit carrying Harlan Teklad I've been wondering what the heck I'm gonna do for food--switching to Oxbow is an option :lol:
