I started off with 2 rats one of them "celty" was very affectionate and social the other was very shy and scared "kamile" celty died about 7 months ago give or take and she was energetic till the end , but Kamile is still how do I say acting weird. I Don't know if she's scared of me or something but she's going on 2 years now with this same attitude I love her none the less though <3. BEHAVIOR DOWN BELOW

She comes to the front of the cage whenever she sees me and bits the tip of my finger nails and licks me.

When I pet her she Immediately Lowers her entire body and puts her ears back.

Whenever I give her a treat I have to give her a long or wide piece of it because she literally attacks whatever I give her and she's bitten me a couple of time when I give he a small treat close to my fingers.

Oh and another thing she is very comfortable in her cage she runs around pushe's her litter plays with her toy's and various box's that she loves to tear apart
BUT! when ever she is out of her cage she Freaks out I can literally leave my cage open and she WILL NOT leave the cage My other rat "celty" would leave the cage and figure out ways of pushing the front off just to explore the house.

I don't understand Is she mad, sad, angry or is this just her natural behavior? *note she's always acted like this even when her cage mates were still alive*

RIP Simon(old guinea pig)and Celty (previous rat mate)

She sounds like a normal happy rat. She loves her habitat and that's wonderful. She seems quite typical. Not all rats like to leave their cage to explore. Some rats hate big wide open spaces.

Alright thanks just making sure she is happy Was thinking of buying her a new cage mate ,but I just don't handle losing my animals very well. She will most likely be my last one so I like to spoil her.

I too think that she likes her cage, and that she's content in there. When I had my first two rats and the first one died, the second one would always ask to get out of the cage to spend time with me. She was very lonely by herself. It sounds like your rat is quite happy on her own.
