Just curious about Oreos abcess..

Oreo has an abcess on top of his nose. It almost looks like a scabbed over pimple..

I've never dealt/seen abcesses before, so i want to make sure this looks okay. Tracy (the woman i got him from) said he was to a vet, and he said it wasn't far along enough to drain.

It hasn't gotten any bigger, and i am able to touch it without him making so much as a flinch.

Hold a warm compress to it a couple times a day to try and bring all the yucky stuff to the surface if it's not bothering him.

It's pretty small... I would probably wait till it gets bigger. I wonder if it could be a keratin cyst?

It's a mass of skin proteins, not harmful and doesn't usually get too big.

It's after getting a little bigger, but not much. It still doesn't bother him any.
The vet said if it bothers me, they can remove it. Otherwise keep an eye on it.

Does this sound right? She was a new vet that i've never met with before. My actual Vet was on vacation.

My double rexes got those all the time. I only had them removed when they got huge as the rat would try to chew it off. Otherwise it was just a wait and see thing.

It doesn't seem to bother him at all, he doesn't react when i touch it, he doesn't scratch it or anything.

Hopefully it won't turn into anything.
