Jack has a small tumour behind right ear: HOME SAFE!

SQ found it. At first we thought it was just an abscess, but it is a malignant tumour. The vet said it should come out asap, so tomorrow is the day.

Please wish my sweet licky boy all the best of luck. I dread the possibility of losing him.

Jack is now home, safe and sound! He has been pretty active. I sent Sawyer along with him because I knew they could have a long wait today, and both boys were very glad to be home. I didn't even need the SnuggleSafe, because Jack is snuggled up with his brother in a CozyCorner cube. :heart:

I hope to talk to the vet tomorrow and find out how things went. He was in surgery still when I picked Jack up. I am hoping that the whole tumour is gone.

ETA: There was a new vet tech there, and she and her daughter have two pet rats. They have had several other rats in the past. Always nice to see a rat-friendly clinic! She said that Sawyer took her finger and licked it thoroughly.

Phew! That is always the most worrisome time. Glad he made it through the surgery OK!

I finally had the chance to talk to Dr. Stewart today, and there is even better news: he is sure that the tumour was benign. It was easy to remove and not attached to other tissue. So I am very relieved. Jack is looking his old self, and the incision site has no redness or swelling.
