So I finally managed to track down some Ivermectin, yay! (no more olive oil baths!) When I got it I decanted it into a pill bottle and there it's stayed now that I'm done with the dosing round I got it for. How long can it stay stored like that?

Is that the horse paste wormer? I don't know how long it's good for once open.
But the oral ivermectin has a very long shelf life. I wonder if an equine forum might know the answer to the horse paste one.

The box should be stamped with an exp date, but not sure if that changes once decanted. Jorats is right, maybe a horse forum would know.

Typically any not used in one dose for a horse would be thrown away, or split with another. The whole herd should be done at the same time, so leftovers are not usually an issue.

I'll check for the expiration date, I think I've still got the box someplace, but I don't know if it's the same once it's decanted, like you say. It's the kind that comes in a syringe tube, I think it's a single dose for a horse; it's enough to fill up about 2/3rds of a prescription bottle. Also, apple flavor! which the rats were less than impressed with actually lol.

It seems like a shame to dump it when there's so much left! But if it won't last....Yep, I should go scout that out with some horse people!
