Isaac has a tumor on the side of his face :(

Last night I noticed some swelling on the side of Isaac's face near the front of his left ear.
Today he has a large lump
He is on baytril, & lasix for his breathing and I added clavamox on Thursday in case it was a secondary infection.
Will give him some medicam for pain and inflamation as he really isn't feeling well
Will compress it too ... although with Isaac, that will be a challenge

Feeling a bit apprehensive as almost every rat I have had with a facial abscess ended up having a malignant, fast growing tumor associated with it, and had to be put to sleep within a week of the appearance of the abscess.

Hope the vet can see Isaac on Monday

Poor sweetie. I hope that it is nothing more serious. I hate abscesses on the face or head.

We just returned from the vet.
Isaac has a tumor :sad3:
It is deep and extends upward and down to his jaw ....
Isaac is scheduled for surgery at 4 pm this afternoon.
I hope this is the right decision for Isaac .... but the way it is growing I would probably have to have him pts by the end of the week if it wasn't removed.

I think the surgery was at 4 pm Holly said? So it's likely not over yet...

I just heard that Isaac has gone to the Bridge. No details yet, but I assume that the tumour was inoperable and aggressive.
