Our Bobo's breathing hadn't been well, and all the rats had been sneezing so we brought them to the vet and she gave us Baytril (Enrofloxacin) for them.

It is 10mg/ml and she told us to give 0.56ml to Bobo every 12 hours (because he weights 0.56kg)
and to do the same with all the other rats... as in, Smokey weights 0.50kg so give him 0.50ml every 12 hours.

Does this sound like too much of a dose because I feel like it is a lot to give every 12 hours?

The dose is right if you're calculating it at 10 mg/kg, it's a lot because the Baytril is not very concentrated. Some people use different dosing guidelines that would call for more, but my vet always uses the 10mg/kg guideline and it's worked for my rats.

But it's 10mg/ml and not 10mg/kg. :/

No, it's not, but at 10 mg/ml a 1kg rat would get 1 ml and a .56 kg (560 kg) rat would get .56 ml.
