as opposed to both in the same day?

I honestly do not have the patience to take care of two sick/injured/post-op rats at the same time...

i know for sure my one rat eats his medicine, and he's the one who is having a hard time right now with his hormones so i'm thinking of just getting him neutered first so i know the experience with a rat who takes his medicine.

my other rat maurice just will NOT take his damn Septra. i've tried force feeding him in any and every gentle way i could, using youtube videos or just chance, and it doesn't work. right now, the only way he will eat it is if i put a little nutella on it. seriously. it's driving me crazy.

so is it okay to get them neutered one at a time?

It's certainly not a bad idea. One of the big reasons to have them done at the same time is so they can recover together. But since yours aren't together anyway I don't see why it would matter to them.

Keep in mind that it may be less stressful for you to get them both done at the same time. Get all the worrying over with at once. (Not sure I would have made it through all eight of my boys being neutered if I did them all one at a time.)

Are you still giving the septra for the supposed staph infection? Do your rats still scratch? The Revo should've taken care of any parasites.

This is what Staph looks like on the skin, it causes a condition called Pyoderma

IF your rat doesn't have any of these lesions, he does not have a staph infection and does not need the antibiotics.

No, my vet ruled out staph. I'm giving my other rat Septra right now for his breathing problem. I would call it the lung infection but she says it hasn't gotten down there yet.

I stopped giving Louis any medication, however he still scratches even after second dose of Rev, so i don't know what is going on with him.

could it possibly be the hormones? lol it sounds so stupid to ask but i don't know what else it could be.
