SO Wayne and I decided to do intros tonight with everyone. I went to a local appliance store and took a fridge box off their hands and made a great enclosure.

It went AWESOME. There was a lot of mounting going on. Ruby was not mounted once. They tried each once but she sat down or would stand up. Hazel and Olivia had a mounting match. I think they basically made it into a game. Pearl was mounting Lily a lot and Lily was making a lot of noise about it. Lots of EEPS. Althought Lily did not try to mount anyone. There were no fights, a lot of sniffs and later Ruby mounted Olivia once and Pearl twice. I believe Ruby is boss. But other then that I don't know how the heirarchy stands.

Now here is my question. We have tomorrow off, we could try another intro in the morning, and put them in the cage tomorrow and see how it goes. OR we could do two outtimes with them all together tomorrow and continue doing that until next Wednesday when we are off again and put them together then. Any ideas???

Pearl is still sneezing quite a bit but her lungs are totally clear and no porphryn from nose or eyes. So I think I might get some childrens benedryll. Can someone give me the dosage for that??

Also one thing I wanted to note. I picked both Olivia and Pearl up for dangle attempts. They legs stayed ridged but they were very relaxed through it. I was happy. Now Olivia is staring at me eye boggling.

Sounds like a very good intro!
You have two choices... like you've already noted, lol. You could try to put them all together today. It does sound like it could happen. Do a very long out time/intro and go ahead scrub down the cage and stick them in. Try and be home all day to watch them in the cage. If all goes well, it's done. If not, pull out the newbies and do a week of intros.
Sometimes intros go so well, you don't even need more than a day.
I remember before I knew forums and "rules" existed, we would buy a rat and throw him/her in a dirty cage and just let them work it out. I count my lucky stars that we never had an aggressive rat back then.

Oops, forgot. lol

I buy the children's benedryl, and you can give anywhere from 0.5 to 1.0ml of the stuff. Start with the 0.5ml and see if that helps. You can also do it twice a day.

We decided to wait to put them together. Everything went well. But I would much rather have two days at home with them in the cage instead of one. So we will do a week of togetherness and then put them together next week.

I got children's reactine. Is that ok. It's a little less 5 mg/5 ml in meds. I was just wondering because it's non drowsy.

100ml : 5 mg/5 ml Cetirizine Hydrochloride

Non Medicinal: acetic acid, artificial flavours, glycerin, parabens, propylene glycol, sodium acetate, sucrose, water

The Benadryl that they had was bubble gum flavour, Reactine was grape.

Sorry LA, I didn't get a chance to check it out yet. Just did a quick google search and it doesn't seem to be any bad effects. You could try it, although, I think I would go with the Benedryl since we already know that it works.

I think because I already have it and the ingredients are ok I will try it. I can give it to someone if it doesn't work. That way if it does work we have something else to give our rats and if it doesn't work we know that too.

I was just wondering. How long should I give this to Pearl and when should I start seeing a difference.

I've given it to my guys for a week, but if you don't see a marked improvement within a couple of days, then I would think it's not working.

Well I have been giving this to Pearl for a week and it really hasn't done much. I thought I would try the whole week. So I will try benadryll now. Her sneezing has gotten better but I find that when she gets excited she sneezes a lot. So we will see.
