Introducing my rats?

Well I have started the process of introducing my young rat (Crowley) to my older male (Jacoby) since they r both due to get fixed as soon as I find a vet who will do it near me I decided to start the process by putting there cages by each other well my issue is my older rat ignored the other one 100% while the younger 1 sniffed and watched the older I was wondering if this is normal? Neither are showing signs of aggression so I guess that's good but I was confused since everything I read says move on to the next step when all signs of aggression stop

You could try intros on neutral ground.

Ya, what jorats said. Time together in a neutral area will give you a better idea of where they stand with one another.

i feel horrible for not posting sooner i went through all the steps no real fights or problems at all they are perfectly happy living together they sometimes get mad over who gets to sleep where but they're starting to share beds now <3
