So I've adopted 2 spayed girls and 1 neutered boy to add to my current group of 4 girls. Right now my 4 girls are living in the top half of a ferret nation and the 3 new ratties are living in the bottom half. Today they were trying to get at each other from the inside side of the cage--2 of my top girls and one of the bottom girls, Shirley.

I saw this and tried to fold the towel tighter over the top pan of the FN. But when Shirley, 1 of the girls on the bottom, saw my finger she bit it, and when I put my hand in to pet her and try to calm her she bit again--I know stupid. I'm worried that this is a sign of bad things to come during intros.

Does this mean that my new girl Shirley is going to be really aggressive come intro time?
Is all of this a sign of a difficult intro? I don't have much intro experience, so difficulty is definitely not my specialty.

Also, Shirley doesn't seem to be scared of anything, so I fear it might be tough to find a neutral ground that will have her scared enough to neutralize any aggression she might have.

Their behaviours through cage bars is definitely not an indication of how they will behave face to face. It's like having a dog behind a fence be super hyped up, aggressive even at a stranger but take that fence away or leash and the dog is normal, welcoming even. Same goes for rats. You'll know soon enough how your girl will be.
