I'm almost certain Ella has an injury in her hind end. She can't walk normally. I originally thought it could of possibly of been PT just with the way she was acting, and the gunk building up in her eyes. But she is grasping things fine, eating normally, its just the way she is walking.

How do we find out whats wrong? What can we do for her to make her more comfortable?
She is currently living with her sister and a set of three sisters in the bottom half of my FN, so I try to keep her on the bottom so she doesn't fall off the shelf.

I'll try to get a video of her and maybe someone has seen this before.

Has she been to a vet? A vet should be able tell if it is something simple that needs medication to reduce sweeling or something more serious.......
I hope she is feeling better soon.

It seems the girls in our area have a prediliction to HED (hind end degeneration) could it possibly be that? How old is Ella again? Sorry to keep asking

When Jedy fell off a cupboard it didn't show at first but he had internal injuries and fluids had accumulated around his kidneys. I couldn't understand why he had died so young so I had a post done. Vet said the internal injuries had been from the fall. I hope your girl gets better.

She just had a seizure as I was giving her some Ensure.

I'll call Dr. Munn in the morning.
This should be fun. Driving two hours with a 5 week old going through a growth spurt.

Seizures indicate an issue from the fall :(

You will need steroids to reduce the inflammation of the brain, push for that okay Meghan?

I am sorry. :( I hope she makes it through the night.

Oh no, I'm sorry. You've had a lot of bad luck with the ratties in the last while.

And it really doesn't help with pregnancy/post-pregnancy hormones either.

After driving to Toronto today and having a horrible drive home (traffic, having to stop twice to feed baby). Our two hour drive home turned into four.

When we got home we discovered that our sweet little girl left us.

RIP Ella baby. I'm so sorry I didn't help you earlier and that I wasn't there with you when you left.
I love you baby. Play hard with Edwin, Ninja and Molson.

I am so sorry today turned out not as you had planned sweetie :sad3:

I am pretty sure there wasn't much else you could do at this point and the meds were a last-ditch effort. As for not being there, I bet little Ella did it on purpose. You could have a wee sick one and you don't leave them for days. You pop to the corner store for 5 mins and they are gone when you return. Some want to be alone, and she sounds like one of those.

(((Hugs)))
