For the past week or so my rat has had a head tilt and then she could not figure out how to get down from the level or go up. She goes around in circles, like she is drunk. I am going to take her to a vet next week but is there something i can give her until then?

She needs to see a vet and be put on antibiotics (clavamox + baytril or clorpalm) and an anti-inflamatory such as pred as soon as possible.
Hopefully there will not be permanent damange and she will recover quickly.

Should I put her into a different cage away from her cage buddy. Note: her cage buddy is older and seems to know something is wrong, so she helps her around.

The less stress the better for all rats. So really moving the afflicted rat is not a good idea.
But do see a vet asap so the infection can be treated which is the best chance at full recovery.

She has been to see the vet and it is indead an ear infection as suspected, she has been put on baytrail 2 does a day for 3 weeks.

Hope she gets better quickly! One of my boys just got over a URI.

Poor baby, good luck, I hope it's an easy, and speedy recovery. One of my boy's had a permanent head tilt from a nasty ear infection. It didn't slow him down any, but it's definitely easier to do without.
