So I got an email today from her, answering a few questions I had...

1) She does neuters and has done many already.

2) She sedates, gases and then administers a needle for euthanasia.

3) And she will correspond by email with me instead of me calling everyday or two with questions while she's in surgery lol

The cons?

1) She doesn't do teeth trimming.

2) She does not do spays :( She says shes never had someone ask for them and isn't comfortable and usually sends people 6 hours away to a vet in Halifax for things shes not comfortable doing. BUT she plans on offering these once she is comfortable with them.

My old vet did nothing much more than offer meds, everything else was a "I don't do that".

I think I will add her to the list of vets on the rat shack.

Yes, she sounds great. She fits into the category of vets who are keen to learn and aware of what they do and don't know. Sounds ideal. And she does humane euthanasias, which is a godsend.

No offence to other vets, but this one is about my age I am thinking (25-30) and I believe thats helping in her view to be open and learn. My other vet is well into her 60's and I find older vets tend to always stick with what works and never look for easier more simple solutions. What was right 20 years ago with vetting may not be right today, know what I'm saying? And I feel more comfortable with her, I can suggest something else and not feel like I'm going to get sent to detention lol
