I have no idea how old Aili and Kaina are but they are really tiny, I'm just worried that I'm not doing good for them...I'm pretty sure that baby rat's do not require the same care as older rat's?!

Can anyone help me out in gathering info. on caring for baby girl's?

Make sure their cage wires aren't too far apart so they can't squeeze out of them. That's... really all I can think of. :giggle:

This is a great time to do all the socializing, and to start litter training if you wanted. Also to teach them not to bite, etc.

Do you have any specific questions?

For me I think I can do without liter training, I read on her somewhere that they only poo in the liter box and pee everywhere else.

I spent a whole lot of time instaling mesh around the darn cage, I think it's ok until they start chewing. *lol*
How can u teach them not to bite?
I was more wondering, how is the handling time with babies...the sleeping time? Like how long should they be handled, if they should be handled at all?

If they bite, just squeak in protest - they usually get the idea.

When I had baby rats, I didn't really treat them any different. I handled them a lot, but gave them the opportunity to sleep if they'd rather. If I put them in their cage and they wanted out, back out they came.

I usually put them back in their cage every half hour or so at least for a potty break so they'd get the idea not to use the outside as their bathroom.

I stick with Harlan lab blocks and veggies =)

The nutrition is slightly different, I believe, to help them grow and such (some buy the higher Harlan protein percent opposed to the 14%). But I never changed my ratties diet.
