Hormones after neuter?

Sorry to be posting so much I just keep forgetting to ask things


My male rat Apollo got neutered last thursday how long will it be before his testosterone levels come down? and how can I tell when they are? I need them to come down before I move his cage closer to Yuki's

It can happen anytime usually anywhere from immediately up to 3 months after.
But, I would have them beside each other immediately. You won't really know until you do the actual intro.

Not a good idea ... Apollo tried to lunge through his cage at Yuki who was in my arms ... I need to wait until his hormones settle.

I would put their cages next to each other but far enough away that they can't reach each other.

The cages are about 2 ft from each other I am working on moving them closer ... The problem is my one male doesnt use his whole cage so they wouldnt see each other anyway

They would still get used to each others smell.

ok I think they can smell each other now but I will rearrange so they can be closer

2 ft apart is plenty

Just move them Closer as Apollo gets more comfortable?
