Homemade toy ideas that your rats will love

I spent all morning making homemade rats toys with things I had around the house.

Treats wrapped in a tissue and hung up with a shower curtain hook.

Egg cartons

Muffin wrappers

TP rolls

Paper bag filled with shredded newspaper

Piece of fleece tied in knots

Cat balls

Popsicle sticks soaked in apple juice & left to dry

I think the orb thing you asked about is called a sputnik and its by savic brand, they are my ratties fav hand out place.

Ratlover2013 thank you for sharing all your toy ideas, I will have to give them a try.
My rats really love craft pompoms they carry them around and hoard them in hammocks its so funny to watch!

Love the ideas. My girls love to shred. They've become bored with filled toilet rolls, so hanging things to shred is something I will try right away.

Mine are crazy for paper bags and Kleenex boxes -- never get tired of them -- so I will add some shredded paper and watch the fun begin.

mamarat's idea, of hanging up toilet paper rolls so that they can unravel the paper and make nests, is also a winner. They love making a mess!

So I only just got around to making some. I've done an egg box one and a cupcake case one. So far, the egg box one is the favourite! I used string instead of hooks but it's pretty much the same.
