I hope someone on here can help me-my little girl Nike's abdominal has swollen to about twice the normal size in a couple of days (almost as if she was pregnant, however she lives alone so I am positive thats not it). She is about a year old so megacolon seems to be out of the question, but could it be some sort of back up with her intestines? She was moving around just fine last week and now she is lethargic and barely eats/drinks. She lays at the bottom of her cage and mostly only moves when humans go up to the cage to stroke her. She has become very skinny(except the abdominal area) which is not soft (so I dont believe its a tumor? -could be wrong). When I first noticed a difference in her behaviour, I tried feeding her yogurt and she ate the scoop I gave her over night. This morning I tried to give her more but she barely ate any, and only a few nibbles of apple. I did purchase prune juice as it is somewhat a natural laxative in case of blockage and I also tried massaging her belly to see if I could get something moving. She drank a few teaspoons of prune juice out of the bowl, but then would only lick it off our fingers.

Does anyone have any ideas of what it could be/what I could to do to help her?

It could be a tumour but it could also be an infected uterus or internal abscess... you need to get her to a vet right away.

Vet time and very fast, she sounds like she's in a lot of pain...abdominal masses (hard) can show up very fast. Infected uterus (pyometra) can as well. They both hurt.
