I have been searching the site with no luck...
I know someone had posted a link to a website with a spread sheet list of medication and the dosages suitable for treating rats....or am I crazy?
My girl is in need of some antibiotics as we are treating her with prednizone for likely stroke. She has only had 2 doses of pred and I don't want to let this go too long without the antibiotic.
I called around to some vets yesterday and well earliest some can manage is this weekend or early next week (likely cause its a rat and they don't do rats who knows...).
I need to call my vet back again and hope she is around today, if I can get my girl into see my regular vet she might not know much about rats but she is willing to listen and learn and call on her collegues who can help her.
Otherwise I am afraid I am going to have to go to a vet that does not have a clue about rats to get the meds sooner, so I would like to be armed with this list when I go in and also what type of meds should I be asking for?

Thanks
Tanya

Some links (not sure if this is what you are looking for)

Rat Guide - Medication Guide main page
http://ratguide.com/meds/

Rat Guide - Conversions and Calculations
http://ratguide.com/meds/reference/conversions_and_calculations.php

Rat & Mouse Gazette - "Medication Usage Chart for Rat Respiratory Illnesses and Other Conditions" (a list of medications etc. might be worth printing out to take with you)

ETA: i have no idea what kind of medication you should be asking for. Hopefully somebody more experienced in that will come along and tell you but the links should help aswell and might be useful giving to the vet

Thank you Ryelle! Thats the one I think I had before...
I just seemed to be looking in all the wrong places...I think I am stressed out and having a hard time thinking straight! I thought Google was suposed to think for you...or is that the new one Bing...hhhmmm

Thanks again.

Just a thought, could this be an inner ear infection? she is using both sides front and back legs now ...not well mind you... she cannot hold food even if I support her her to do so...face doesn't seem so twisted but its like she cannot support herself and stand up so she sort of rolls and belly crawls...
