I've posted before about my 10 week old baby Petey who was a horrible biter from day one
At first I thought he's just scared he's not used to people I've been working non stop to gain his trust he'll come up to me now take a treat without biting me
But if I try and touch him I'll get attacked if I try as pick up his cage mate I get attacked
It's obvious he's not scared of me it's just out right simple aggression
I'm at the point I'm not sure what to do now
I've tried all the trust training I could think of
I've tried squeaking like another rat
I lost a nice big chunk of my knuckle when trying to fill the food bowl last night
I'm really lost at this point
I just don't know what to do anymore
Someone please help!

He's not big enough yet D: I got him confused with my other baby he just turned 9 weeks

Prob by the time I find a vet who will do it (my vet won't fix small animals) he'll be big enough to have it done I just don't know what to do with him until then it's getting out of control :/

I have heard of a lot of people having luck with rescue remedy. You have to give it frequently buy it supposedly calms them. I bought some but one of the buggers climbed on my dresser when I wasn't looking and chewed the rubber dropper to high heavens so I have no way to measure doses at the moment. Lol.

I have a pair of fishing gloves, they are lightweight yet strong. They keep those teeth off your skin while doing chores. I had to use them with older rescues who were not used to human hands inside the cage. Can get them at any hobby store for fishing/hunting/boating etc.

im currently using my work gloves for when i have to move him but hes gotten so bad now he'll attack me and my other baby will step in causing them to fight they get along just great when im not around everyone even my vet is telling me to put him down which i just can not do i literally have no other options right now other than to try and find him a home that can deal with him

I wonder if an experienced vet would be willing to do it early for these extenuating circumstances?

I know it may be a lot to ask and I certainly don't want you to endanger yourself or your other rat, but if you could get videos of the behavior in all areas that might be helpful to us.

ive tried to get videos but the only one i was able to get was him charging me before i dropped the phone to avoid getting bit

Lol (sorry but I did in fact giggle a bit) I feel your pain on that one.

i admit its a funny video all u see is a ball of grey come running then the phone hit my foot then some colorful language from me i think i might have deleted it tho all i can find is the video of him takin a treat from me

Oh my...that is a little funny. I had a video of Sterling (my first rescue and a very food aggressive boy) although it was that he took the phone out of my hands

Your poor boy is really young to be starting this. Has he been thoroughly checked by a vet?
yes all of my babies have been to the vet one had a uri when i got him so after he was treated and i got the others i took them in my vet is terrified of petey (the aggressive one) she also said it was really strange for him to be so mean so young shes told me a few times now she thinks putting him down is our only hope :( but other than being on the small side his health is fine

I think a neuter may be your last chance at saving this boy unless you can get him to one of the Shack members who 'specialize' in aggressive rats, such as SQ in New Brunswick or Lilspaz in Ontario. (Volunteering you guys! LOL)
I have had boys neutered as young as seven weeks, so it all depends on the vet.

i made a post hoping someone whos dealt with this before could take him :( my vet wont fix him i have a list to call in the morning but we are very limited on vets that will even see rats
