I was just saying that my halfies were healthy except for Mae's tumours that she was pts for.
Tonight I pull out Jennie and she's got a URI...luckily I was able to put her on my shoulder (no hands) and get her to calm and then she took baytril happily from the syringe  I marked her tail for quick identification...they all run to the front of the cage and it can be very hard to figure out who is who...you cannot just reach in and take out a rat to check the belly marking, because the rats beside it might bite you.
Jennie is in good shape other than her URI...
BUT I took one look at shy little Leela and pulled her out fast. I don't handle them every day as its so difficult to, but I see and observe them every day and her belly swelled up FAST. :sad3: Her belly is hard and full (tumours is my guess, since they like to hide in the abdomen and then erupt. My halfies don't get palpated like my domestics do). her belly is coverd with diluted blood, and a horrible smell of urine and infection. I realized there was no point in treating this poor old lady so I gave her a very big dose of metacam for pain.

She boggled for me here...I had just rubbed her ears and that itchy spot between the shoulder blades
