A friend of mine linked the following article on Facebook: http://vaccineresistancemovement.org/?p=3729 It discusses various natural ways of battling cancer. Among the suggestions one in particular stood out: Grape Seed Extract. It's an intense antioxidant more powerful than vitamin E or C.

"GRAPE SEED EXTRACT significantly inhibited the growth of colorectal tumors in both laboratory cell cultures and in mice, U.S. researchers report. A team from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver says mice given the extract displayed a 44 percent reduction in the size of advanced colorectal tumors. The researchers also determined how grape seed extract works to inhibit cancer growth. It does so by increasing the availability of a protein (Cip1/p21) in tumors that “freezes” the cell cycle, causing cancer cells to self-destruct.

Using a commercially available grape seed extract, researchers exposed leukemia cells to the extract in different doses and found the marked effect in causing apoptosis in these cells at one of the higher doses. They also discovered that the extract does not affect normal cells, although they don’t know why."

SO I called around to different health stores and finally got referred to a great little shop that had just what I wanted - GSE in liquid form for easy dosing. It's all organic and pure; no dairy, egg, artificial preservatives/sweeteners, colors, yeast, wheat, soya, gluten, or corn. I'm impressed that it even comes in a glass bottle - I don't want any plastic leeching into it. 1ml is roughly 18 drops and the recommended dose is 6 drops under the tongue 3 times a day with meals. I would have preferred a more concentrated formula but it was the only one they had and I couldn't wait for Ebay to ship me some.

I'm trying to figure out how much I should be giving Remmy. We need to start slow, obviously, so that it doesn't upset his tummy. I thought 1 drop 3 times a day for 2-3 days and checking his stool for irregularities might be a good place to start. What do you guys think?

I realize that I'm going out on a limb but his tumor doesn't respond to steroids and I'm at my wits end - I'm not ready to lose my best friend. I feel like I'm searching between the couch cushions for a solution.. but I can't just sit back and do nothing.

Anything is possible. I've noticed that a lot of vitamin doses are usually 1/100th of a human dose. But again, not sure if that's even accurate. At this point, it's more trial and error.
Keep us posted.

It doesn't smell very good and sure as Hell doesn't taste good - he let me know that much. I gave him a strawberry puff afterward to mask the taste and he was so ticked that he accepted nothing less than a yogie. I guess I'll have to get creative with masking the taste.
