wanted to redirect this off of Molly's post as we are all more concerned with her health than politics and drugs

Re Fadrazole - they sell 10mg and 50 mgs
but doesn't say if it's in powder/ pill or what form and how much that actually is.
one quote on another site was $380 but did not say exactly how much again
hmm not sending that much to asia just yet- although my chair is direct from China and it's the only
chair built for people that have the medical issues I have struggled with.

my vet is looking into getting the fadzaole and also looking at the actual research done recently to see if it's of any use.
2012 Phase 2 clinical trials/women/breast cancer are completed in Japan on humans- no results posted yet.

NIH has done a number of studies as well- just can't figure out where it got sidelined and the newer
aromatase inhibitors like letrazole and anastrozole got fast tracked for humans - letrazole is readily available and it is proven to cause toxicity in rats-

well thats' food for thought.

current clinical trails are still ongoing on here in US w/letrazole and newer AIs but seem to not be panning out as hoped. Perhaps they will give fadrozole another look ... at least for the pet rat population here's hoping

I was curious and wrote to the clinic just to know whether they heard about it or not... My vet replied that she had never heard of it but did a very quick research to find it got good results on tumours due to oestrogene only. She says they don't mention any recovery, but it would slow growth of the tumour and could be used as a preventive drug.

If ever another PT or mammary tumour pops up in my group, she is willing to look into it and figure out a dose.

She didn't say, it was a quick email reply. I have an appointment for Maya tomorrow, she'll probably bring it up if I forget to ask. I'll let you know!

trade name for fadrozole is Afema made by Novartis (and its predecessor Ciba-Geigy)

I know that Novatris sells an entire line of products to vets- Afema /fadrozole is not in the published catalgue but I can't see and issue w/ a vet ordering it - certainly one that that works at a teaching hospital -or one researching any of the common rats diseases
