I let them all fish for peas again and while doing that i was eating a bun. I gave Al a tiny piece of bread and almost right after he started making 'throwing up' movements; like a cats, except hes ... well, a rat but i know they cant throw up

so i took the rest of it from him and set him back down and watched him for a second and right away he started stretching and stretching and it didnt look like stretches hes done before. so i threw everyone else in the cage out of my way and started patting Al on the back . after a couple minutes he closed his eyes and fell still so i stopped and he jumped back up again and tried to run away so i coaxed him out of hiding and set him back in the cage since he seemed better.... but he still only just wants to hide.

i tried getting him to drink water off my fingers while he was 'choking' but he wouldn't -- after i was patting him he would.

did he choke? is his hiding behaviour still 'im having trouble breathing' behaviour?

It's very scary but always better to let him work it out alone, keeping an eye on him though. I'm glad he's doing better.

Very scary, I always give a lil pice of whole wheat bread when giving baytril and mine do fine.

OMG I knew rats couldn't throw up, but I have never heard of one choking! How scary! I was hold my breath while reading that.

BTW LOVE the names! Ed, Al and Roy! Which is which? I am so an anime fan and love FMA. That is too cute!

Thats good to know it's a bit of a choking hazard, i thought it would be okay for him, because I've read of people using it to give medicine to their rats.... I guess that's the end of bread for a little treat/snack to share with them, I guess....

In order of Size: Alphonse is the Russian Blue(I think that's his colour?), Roy is the black hooded, and Edward is my shrimpy little beige boy.
