I've been noticing that my girl rats will rather vigorously hump each other every once in a while... is this just raging hormones? Sprinkles is chasing Nibbler all around the cage trying to hump her and lick her naughty bits... :shock:
I assume they are just in heat, but I wanted to make sure everything is okay!

Whoa! I know that rats in heat often mount each other, even if the other one doesn't. Maybe they just happen to be in heat both at the same time? Oh well, let them entertain themelves. ;3

Most of my rats did it.

Are they new to each other? Mine tend to do it more when they are newly introduced then they stop completely. also younger rats seem to be more willing to hump from what i see.

well yes, they are young (3 months) but they are sisters, so they are not new to each other.

maybe they'll grow out of it :giggle:
