Smitty will be getting neutered since I didn't spend as much money on Naira as I expected...someone should benefit right? He's a loooovely boy with people but other rats turn him into a wet-sided hormonal puffball. He will need friends so he needs a neuter. :D

Along with him I have added the following rats;

Frida (had tumour removal not that long ago) but she has developed a really terrible URI that is not responding to baytril/doxy. Now her belly is swollen and puffy and she's bleeding vaginally. UGH. Her respiratory issues are probably too much for even the thought of surgery, so I am not sure what we can do at this point, besides try to get that URI under control?

Edited to add: Percy was moved in with the oldies, and seems to be doing much better, he has a reprieve from his final vet visit.

Percy's tumours and resp issues have become too much. He got stressed today and started open mouth breathing, so i decided enough's enough, and I am taking him in to be pts on Monday.

Waco, not sure yet. I only discovered after the vet closed, that his head looked wide...I felt along his cheekbones and didn't feel any real difference then I saw under his jaw. Poor poor Waco.

We'll see how he does this weekend. :sad3:

Jill...sigh, my sweet tiny nursemaid. We have her resp issues under control mostly, with little downturns. Her weight is decent again (a huge issue for her), but now she's showing neuro symptoms. I have put her on Dex to see if it helps but I think I shall just try to keep her comfortable for this weekend and let her go on Monday. She's bruxxing, and sleeping with me again (she hasn't done this since Hope left us).

Watch this short video of her with Waco, but watch for the little headlift

Well it looks like Percy is getting his reprieve...his lungs are sounding better, he's still active and seems much happier now. Waco on the other hand is failing fast, and Jill will go with him :cry:

:hugs: You have been and ARE a very good rattum mum...with that job comes all the decisions that you are making, day to day, no less! I actually am awed by that! Good luck tomorrow! :hugs:

Change of plans...I realized this weekend, that I have Thurs and Friday off work this week, and Frida's vaginal bleeding has stopped leaving only her URI to tend with at this exact moment. I decided to take her in later this week so I can be with her, instead of trying to figure out how I was going to get 3 carriers and 5 rats to the vet on the TTC during rush hour. :emb:

So today we only need good vibes for Smitty, and loving peaceful passing thoughts for Jilly and Waco. This weekend was incredible especially with Waco, he was sooo sweet and loving, and only accepted me and lost his anger in the last few months of his life. And Jill? Soooo special this girl. Ms. Opinionated, Ms. Feisty, Ms. Gentle, and Ms. Nursemaid all wrapped in one tiny black and white package. God I shall miss her!

It's going to be a long day :undecided:

Smitty did really really well! I got him back, and you'd never know he had surgery today :giggle:

Except the "you don't love me anymore?" looks

and the "Oh this is really embarrassing"

I'm glad to hear Smitty's neuter went well. You can barely tell there was even an incision there. I'm sorry about Jill and Waco, I know you'll miss them :hugs:
