Our old girls are infested. 3 in a cage. I'm not sure what it is... little tiny black dots with clear wings? they are teeny tiny. Started a few days ago, but I thought it was a rash because she is our 'old' girl at 2 years, 7 months. Then, I noticed them moving when I tried to treat the rash with oil...

So, hubby went online last night while I took them into our bathroom... a site suggested I wash them in dish soap, then rinse and comb out the little nasties. Did this. Poor girl... so sad to have to put her through that... my other girls are a bit younger at 2 years, and heartier, but they didn't enjoy this treatment either.

I am hoping to get to the vet tomorrow.

We stripped their cage and put them in a smaller one temporarily with cardboard and paper so I can clean it easier. More live ones today... repeated the process again.

We had a dog stay with us for a few days at the end of July... could it be the dog that brought them in to our house? How else could they have gotten them?

Thanks for any info., comments, etc...

Yep, the dog could very well have shared some fleas. The vet should give you some revolution or ivermectin. Your sweeties should be good as new.

Thank you!

How do you take care of your home? We've been washing our laundry in hot water... But, I've heard that maybe cold is better?

Well, these tiny black dots seems to have tiny clear bits around them... I'll upload the best pics. I could get. ;)

These are all gone now... took me some scraping with my nails (gently of course), but she tolerated it. I added oil after.

Not as many on her hind quarters.

In relation to the size of my finger.

Some of the super tiny ones seemed to have a clear bit around them.

No scabs really... just a bare patch behind her shoulder where there was a mass of them.

Thank you for the link, lilspaz. :)
