Fast Breathing - UPDATE - She's gone

Hey everyone.

It's been a while since I've had time to be here.

I have a little girl named Lily, she's about 8 months old. She had a rough beginning, but made it through.

Now she is losing weight, and breathing fast constantly. She sneezes sometimes, but not always.

She is eating, but I worry about the constant fast breathing and sitting in one place all the time.

Any similar experiences? Suggestions?

Have you been to a vet? Have you put her on antibiotics? She might have a URI. How long has she been like this. It's not good if she's losing weight. Do you see her eating and drinking?

Fast breathing is always a concern with me too. I would get her in to see a vet asap. Get a good listen to her lungs and start her on doxy or baytril, depending on how bad her lungs sound.
For now, give her baby cereal with olive oil and/or Ensure/Boost, this should help get some weight on her. Make sure her home is kept clean and warm too.

That is exactly what is going on with my Harry right now. Rabid breathing and a little weight loss. He went to the vet today and like Jo said, it is a respiratory infection and he is on doxy. Hugs for Harry and Lily! :hugs:

Lily passed last night. Her little body gave up before we could get her in to the vet today.

Thank you all for your kindness. How hard it was to have to bury my little darling on Mother's day. I felt like her mama, so I guess it was appropriate.
