Eye Infection?

The other day Maria's eyelids seemed a little swollen and it looked like she got a scratch in the corner of her eye. Her and Penny tussle all the time so I assumed it was a battle wound. Yesterday the swelling went down, but her pupil seemed gray. Today the entire front of her eye is clouded over, but her eyelids aren't swollen anymore and the scratch is gone. Her eye looks perfectly fine except it's cloudy and she doesn't seem to be focusing it at all.
Can a scratch make her blind that fast? I haven't got time to take pictures and upload them until later.

EDIT: well, she's getting bluish sheen to it like Liam had before he went blind.
