Eye Abscess?

Just noticed today that Polo has a small pinkish bump above his left eye.
Haven't had the chance to get a good feel of it.. but so far it doesn't feel hard or anything..
It's quite small, but large enough to make his eye appear slightly smaller then the other one.
He's showing no signs of pain.

I'm planning on keeping an eye on it over the next few days.. and if I see any changes or discomfort,
we'll head over for a vet appointment.
Any other idea's on what it could be?
I'm really hoping it's just an irritation but I'd like to be prepared for the worst.

I will try to get a photo soon.
In the mean time, to give you an idea.. it's about the size of a stye that we'd get.

Never really thought that it could actually be a sty... hmm.. I'll do some warm compresses for now and see how that goes.
He's probably going to be finicky.. but, oh well, we'll deal with it!

Took photo's of it this morning.

My flash makes it look worse then it is!

Such as it isn't nearly this red in person:

this photo is more realistic of how it appears.. except it's blurry of course!

I gave him a few warm compresses before.. but he's a very finicky boy with very little patience and full of hormones.

Often these will burst on their own and we warm compress it to encourage it to pop sooner than later. It does look like a sty to me :mrgreen:

One of mine had something like that. I can't quite remember what we did for it... but I remember it wasn't a big deal.
But I'd do what Shelagh recommends.

Thought I should post an update on here...
His eye is doing MUCH better. It was getting worse for a few days, but I kept trying to do warm compresses (he HATED them lol)
and he no longer appears to have a bump. All redness is gone.
