Emma (had thought it was Evie) got the tip of her tail degloved this afternoon. By the time I got home tonight, it was dried up and she did not seem to be in discomfort. Then she must have brushed the tip of her tail against something, because she gave a loud squeak and ran off. But she was back eating Cheerios and looking for treats a few moments later.

So I am really torn about whether to give her Metacam. I will do it, to be safe. Let's hOpe she will swallow it. Poor baby :( I gave her pats and kisses.

It had stopped bleeding long before I got home. I managed to get the Metacam down her without too much persuasion and then she was running around with the others hauling pieces of corn cob around the cage. The tip of the tail looks awful, but little Evie is doing fine. I will give Clav for a couple of days to be safe.

poor girlie...I had it happen to a foster baby before. Again thank god for Shelagh talking me through it....it is pretty awful looking but she healed very fast. Hope your girl is all better soon.

Awww, poor girly!! I hope it heals well without any infection. Give her some kisses for me!? Tell her & the other 3 that their foster mommy loves them
Be careful little Evie!

Emma is her usual feisty self. She still gives the occasional little squeak, but her appetite is good and she's not puffy. Tail tip is black with no sign of infection. Little madame only took about half of her meds this morning, even with scrambled egg to help it down. She detests the taste of Metacam.

I will go up and give her the latest round of kisses and good wishes.
