Posie the black girl of the Tube Girls, is a lovely girl with people but she and Peony are temperamental with other rats and even themselves. About 5-6 months ago, Posie's eye must've gotten scratched and her eye whited out then was blue. It never caused any issues, until last night. Last night the glaucoma started being a real problem. She got dropped off today, with Peony for company. Dr Munn came out of his office and told me that her eye has to come out.

Healing vibes for my older gal :)

Poor Posie... she definitely will be better off without the eye. Still... don't know about you, but that operation breaks my heart, feels like stealing a part of them.

Lots of healing vibes for your sweetie!

Ugh, eye removal ..I had such a bad experience with it, I STILL cry over it.

Sending LOTS AND LOTS of good vibes your way

Poor Posie - poor YOU!!! ::hugs::

Fingers crossed she comes through with flying colors - I know Dr. Munn's a crack shot with enucleations (it seems terrible for him to have to be, but at least he is!).

She's waking up now. She did just fine *whew*

I feel incredibly anxious today, so I was worried something was going to go wrong with her...now I just have to get home and make sure Sage is okay...because I still feel worried about something/someone still...ick.

so glad she's ok

try to relax when/if you can, I think when a bunch of bad things happen all at once, ppl just get jumpy in general, waiting for the other shoe to drop, so to speak.
feeling worried doesn't need to mean that there's anything to worry about (i'll be praying that there isn't!)

:hugs:

:joy: So glad that she came through it OK. Eye removal can be tricky and it's hard not to be nervous. That eye looked pretty bad, so Posie will be glad to be rid of it.

aww poor girl! Do they seem to freak out a bit after the eye is out?

Not usually. There seems to be some relief, especially if it was painful, or they couldn't see from it anyways. Eli had issues, but he was always a bit insecure...with good reason.

i think this is my 4th or 5th enucleation?

Lady, Tepeu, Eli, Posie...ummm...ahhh and Lilith, but hers was not standard and much more extensive.
