Elijah's odd lump after a fight(not an abscess)

Eli got in a fight with Jack tonight during bathtub intros, this is what came out of that. Poor Eli!

I know it's not an abscess because it wasn't there before intros or even before I plucked him out of the tub & rinsed him off in the sink, then I held him in a towel & when I pulled him out I found this, maybe 15 minutes after the fight (couple hours ago now):

Then it got bigger over the next 10 minutes & this was it maybe 30 minutes ago:

It looks like blood pooling under his skin... not sure what I can do for him... ?? Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated!
I think it may be going down now, it's been a couple of hours since the incident but it'd be nice to know if anyone else has dealt with this before.

It could have been a blood vessel burst, if so it will just go away on it's own. But if not, that's a scary lump, especially if it grew so fast. How is he this morning?
His other scratches are superficial. It's too bad nakies get cut up so easily. They need clothes.

It really looked like blood to me & I hope it goes away on its own!
This morning it looks pretty much the same, I couldn't quite tell if it's gone down at all; it hasn't grown any at least!
And I agree about the nakies, my mom didn't want me to bring in any more rats but when she met Eli she was in love & started thinking of the outfits she could knit him. :giggle:

We had a broken blood vessel in my dogs ear. The vet told me they can heal up, but mostly require surgery to repair. For 2 weeks we tried to let it heal. then over night her ear swelled up the size of an apple. Hello emergency surgery.

It could be a blood blister. I've had that on my rats close to a scratch, like the skin had been pinched instead of a bite. Does that make sense? It was reabsorbed but did grow fast like yours. It was a nakie too.
