Ban has been hitting the wheel pretty much non-stop lately, he really really loves that thing. It's just a bit too small, though, and I've noticed he's starting to curl his tail. It goes back to laying flat after a few seconds, but he'll hop around the cage with his tail curled up or held straight up over his back.

I want to get him a big silent spinner or a wodent wheel, but it'll have to wait til after the move when I have some disposeable income.

Aside from looking silly, does the wheel-tail hurt anything? I'd hate to take his wheel away from him unless I have to because he loves it soooo much.

Never noticed any discomfort with wheelie tail, because if they get sore, they can get off the wheel and stretch themselves :) Some rats are just avid runners and learn to carry their tails like this to run in the wheel more comfortably :)

OK, good. He doesn't keep it up in the air all the time, but he does when he gets off. He loves that thing. He was wheeling for like an hour straight almost this morning. He's all slim and muscled lol
