Oh lord! Dobby seems to be going downhill really fast. He's not walking much and wobbles tremendously when he does, he's sleeping most of the time, getting very, very thin and his breathing has started to become laboured and a bit noisy. He can no longer clean his back-end plus being blind and deaf. I have to feed him separately to make sure he gets food. It's absolutely heartshattering to see him like this...makes me bawl my eyes out. I'm thinking it may be time for me to help him over the bridge :cry4: What do/can I do!?

I'm so sorry!

do you have any photos? does he seem to be in pain?
or in other words, do you think he is able to enjoy at least some parts of his daily life, or......?

my heart goes out to, it is so very hard to make "that" decision when the time is near.
:hugs:

how old is he? and who is whooping on him? He looks really thin.. If you pinch test him does his skin stay together? I would try to get some liquids in him. If he is breathing noisy then steam him a bit put in the bathroom with the shower on hot so he can breath in the steam. I mix a little syrup either strawberry or maple with a tad of salt in cold water and syringe it to them if they dont take it from the bowl or spoon. If he is older and not making noise and losing weight that fast it can be an indication of a heart problem. How fast is he losing weight? he looks like skin and bones that is not good.

I take it Dobby is a very old man? I also assume he's not doing much except breathing hard and being very lethargic? If so you are right, its time to let him go...his body has stopped fighing IMO. :(

Yes Dobby is looking very tired and thin. He is nearly 4 years old. He still tries to move around like before, gotta admire his spirit and heart. I'm giving him some baby food, blocks soaked in ensure.

Okay, will do. He's got such a big heart, God bless him  Never had any hormonal or dominance issues. He's always gotten along with everyone, he's so sweet.

Sweet Dobby.
Your love and care gave Dobby one of the longest lives I've heard of.

May your vision un cloud,
Your hearing restore,
Your body turn back,
To be young once more. :cuddle:
 R.I.P.
