This might be common knowledge but I just learned it tonight. There are 2 different types of strokes ischemic (blockage) and hemorrhagic (bleeding). This makes giving any kind of blood thinner (ibuprofen, metacam etc.) dangerous if you don't know which type it is.

Also just as a side note, it is never a good idea to break open an advil liquid gel and try to dilute it to give to your rats in place of liquid ibuprofen. Removing the capsule changes the way the drug is metabolized making it a lot easier for your rat to OD on it. (This isn't rat specific the warning actually came from my sister whose a nursing student.)
