There has been an upset between my girls the last 3 weeks and I'm getting fed up. Its mostly Alison and Miley chasing each other, boxing, screaming and running away with hurt feelings... No injures yet but the sounds and upset is driving me insane!
I know its a dominace thing with Alison so my question is, does spaying girls help with hormones that are causing these fights?
Or what can I do to calm them down already?

In some cases spaying has helped but I am more inclined to say that generally, no it doesn't really help in girls.

How old are the girls?
How big is the cage?
Are there any boys in the house?
Any changes lately like new habitat, new pet?

These factors are important in trying to figure out what's going on with the girls.

Four of them are about 10m/o now and Casey is 20m/o. We moved last month so their free roaming has changed. Otherwise they just see me more, the ferrets are in their room more, its dark at night, and its really quite and calm is the real difference. Alison is getting more confident about roaming[ :D ] and is much happier towards me.. but she's the one involved in the fights so I think the two are connected.
There was extra grooming going on between them for a while because they had mites and those have been treated but we may not be over them yet... that may have been the start of the bickering, I know.
They have a double CN but only sleep in one of the hammocks all together, and hide their blocks in the other ones and the litter box. lol

So it sounds like they've gone through some majour changes recently coupled with the age of 10 months, things are shifting in cage dynamics. I'd let them go through with it, settle who will be boss.
One thing you can do is have a small cage nearby with nothing in it. When the bully acts up, quickly pick her up and put in the small cage for about 10 minutes. Then put back and keep repeating this each time she acts up.

Ah, I was hoping I could get them over this quicker tho, lol. I'm use to the "let them fight it out between themselves" but they are in my room now and they make alot of noise... ::Sigh::
I'll try separating to see if it makes any improvement!
Thanks :)
