I've had all my rats since they were babies. Started with 3 and then added 2 more to the colony. I'm a little worried about one of my boys. He was REALLY young when we got him cause well he's got the monster gene (HUGE rat) and was mistaken for 3.5 weeks when he was only 2 weeks. So raising him from such a young age, he was always really cuddly, would fall asleep on me and groom me from time to time. He's established his rank as top rat cause of his size. Lately, he's gotten really anti-social, won't want to let me hold him or even eat dinner with his brothers. Normally dinner goes in after run time and everyone sits on the food bowls and binge eat but he'll sulk away to the top of the cage and almost seems like he's pouting and he doesn't get his share of the food. He's also a lot more reluctant to come out and run in the play pen I mean flat out refuses to even though when he was younger he was always one of the first ones out.
Any ideas? I'm worried what his behaviour's about...

He's bout 6 months. He's kind of the middle child... Oldest is 7 months, youngest is 5.
Checked for everything. He's fine. We've been treating them for a while for a URI but he's symptom free now.

Oh... 6 months old, that explains it. His hormones have kicked in. Your colony is at the age of setting up alpha. Let it ride out... if he becomes very mean, then he might need a neuter. But right now, let the colony go through what it needs to go through.

mmm sulking teen... haha. well ok. he's actually the one who goes 'leave me alone' while his brothers fight it out... he kind of knows he's top rat. rarely loses a challenge... thanks!

Still a big baby.
