Hi. one of my males behavior has suddenly changed. now that i'm down to just two males my boy brain has become rather agressive twords mocha. he now has a rather decent sized bite mark on his back and a bite scary close to his eye. is his behavior change just because of the loss of my main dominate one? i'm looking into getting him neautered now. but i thought i would ask

i suppose thats important too. he's just a little over a year old. i've had him since he was 3 monthsish. i orginally got mocha (the one he's picking on ) to keep him company then got pinke(the alpha) later on. this started about a month after pinkie passed.

From that info my initial thought is that it might be neurological. A neuter definitely won't hurt and if it is from his hormones then the problem will be solved.

Does Brain constantly go after the other one? Is this a one time scuffle?
How is their environment? mites/lice? clean cage? smoke or other fragrances around them? There are many factors that can set a rat off.
