My three girls all enjoy running in their Silent spinner wheel (1 all the time, 1 quite often, 1 sometimes, but happily when she does). I was thinking of adding another wheel to jazz things up and had read good things about the wodent wheel, but don't seem to be able to find where to get one. Is it one of those US only things?

thanks!

All the ones I know of, including mine, have been purchased over the internet from US sites.
( for example: http://www.martinscages.com)

Personally I prefer the silent spinner as my rats think the wodent wheel is a good toilet and great place to sleep. It is harder to clean but much more durable then a silent spinner.

Im trading my Wodent Wheel in for a Silent Spinner because of the above reasons. Cleaning it is becoming a chore that i dread each time i hear that awful rattle when someone is trying to run in it and its full of poop

It is nice to have more than one kind of wheel, since some rats have strong preferences. I got my Wodent Wheel from Little Mischief RR in Vancouver, and I always have it in my play area.

The only nice thing about the wodent wheel is replacement parts are cheap and shipping is dirt cheap too. The guy who invented it is very nice and I've talked to him over email a few times. You can pretty much replace the entire wheel, minus stand through him and its only a few dollars to do so.

I honestly don't like the Wodent Wheels. Most of my rats were not fond of them either. They hardly used the wheel until I switched to a more open wheel like either the mesh one or Silent Spinner.

Yeah, I guess I should add that I find my wodent wheel evil, that its annoying to take apart and clean and then put back together and put back in the cage, that I am always losing the stupid washers and bolt for it and ordering new ones, and that my rats really don't seem all that interested in it.

...and that it rocks, and makes the loudest noises in the world? lol

definately keeping mine for the play area though, but not in the cage anymore

I have to say that I have fallen in love with Stealth wheels, because they are so quiet and sturdy (in contrast to the delicate Silent Spinners, which I have accidentally broken a couple of -- expensive mistake!). You can buy the Stealth Wheels either free-standing or attachable to the side of the cage (needs a couple of small wrenches). You can order them from Mainely Rat Rescue.

They look AWESOME! they've got the mesh aspect, that my girls seem to like, and they look sturdy too. Do they get squeeky at all? I find i'm constantly oiling my mesh wheels here, a,nd what the price for those wheels?

Those Stealth wheels do look good! (And hard to clean is a key down-side for me :) )
Same question about where to get them in Canada :) Are they an on-line only thing?

thanks!
